DIRECTV: NEON CARNIVAL 2022

CREATING A CULTURAL METAVERSE WITH WHALAR AND DIRECTV

To drive visibility and engagement for DIRECTV we designed a futuristic multiverse-inspired space to host select creators at one of Coachella's most popular after parties: Neon Carnival. Positioned at the entrance of the event grounds, The DIRECTV 'Neon Jungle' marked the beginning of a sensorial journey through lush foliage into a branded spaceship portal inspired by Hype Williams' eye-catching 90's music video aesthetic. Guests then flowed into a spectacular branded geodesic dome for a dazzling projection-mapped visual show and fun cocktails served in glowing spheres. For Neon Carnival's VIP guests, we created a spacious exclusive retro-futuristic lounge inspired by Star Wars cantinas featuring hand textured walls, a dramatic glowing ceiling lit in the DIRECTV brand hues and 2 large-scale branded signs for eye-catching content capture. A branded carnival ride rounded out DIRECTV's dominant presence at the event, and a high performing campaign across socials.
